The Ancestral Mojave River
Lake Manix![]() Lake Manix was the largest lake of the Mojave River system. It may have existed as far back as 470,000 years ago. About 14,000 years ago, while at a high water mark, a seismic event could have caused a breach in the basin shoreline beginning the formation of Afton Canyon. < Previous <> Next > |
