Lee Flat



Some of the best stand of Joshua trees (Yucca brevifolia) in Death Valley National Park are located on Lee Flat. A unique desert vistas surrounds this area and is encircled by rugged mountains.

Take the Saline Valley Road to reach Lee Flat. This road is paved but poor condition. You will reach a junction in Lee Flat where there are roads with gravel surfaces going off in different directions. Each road gives great views of the groves of Joshua trees and the surrounding land.

Joshua trees thrive here, and it's a great spot to see this more iconic variety of tree in Death Valley.
The finest stands of yucca brevifolia in the park grow in this mountain-rimmed valley. Take the paved but rough Saline Valley Road to a junction in Lee Flat. The gravel roads in either direction will provide good views of Joshua trees.
