Mojave Mud Trucking Houses

In the mid-1940s, the Mojave Mud Trucking Company built a row of six simple homes in Shoshone to house their hardworking crew. These men hauled talc from the remote Warm Springs mines down to Dunn siding, keeping a crucial desert supply line moving. These houses weren’t fancy, but they meant steady work, a roof overhead, and a close-knit life in one of California’s most rugged corners.
