Highway 178

State Route 178 consists of two segments; the eastern segment which runs west from Nevada State Route 372, through Shoshone, California and then ending in the southern part of Death Valley National Park (turning north and becoming Badwater Road). The western segment begins south of Trona, California, west through Ridgecrest, over the Walker Pass in the southern Sierra Nevada, through Lake Isabella, ending in Bakersfield, California.
